Our story

Bread is one of the most commonly wasted food items in New Zealand. Kiwis throw away 29 million loaves of bread a year!

Meanwhile, there are many people in our community who are going hungry. Whether it's the kid coming to school with an empty lunchbox every day, or the one that saves his school lunch to share with his siblings for dinner, no one should face food insecurity in NZ.

Rescued Kitchen and Fair Food have teamed up to solve these problems together. All the products on this site are made using surplus bread, produce, and even gin botanicals.

Our secret ingredient, Rescued Bread Flour, is made from leftover supermarket bread and replaces traditional flour 100%. We know you'll find it's the next best thing since sliced bread!

When you buy these treats, all the profits support the Fair Food Charitable Trust to share delicious, healthy, fresh food with whānau who would otherwise miss out.

Last year, Fair Food rescued enough surplus fresh food to share 1.8 million meals - all with food that would have otherwise gone to waste.

Thank you for helping our people and planet with every purchase.
